All because of one person, our workload has significantly increased.
All because of one person, more inconvenience has been created.
All because of one person, we have reverted to the primitive method of monitoring everything very strictly.
True it might be a security measure to ensure similar incidents do not repeat, but is it fair to the rest of us?
Even if that person does not think for himself, at least he could have spared a thought for others. Committing a reckless act and pulling everyone else down to suffering with him, that's so selfish.
Think for others first before you do anything stupid.

Some updates
First of all RIP to the 5 dragonboaters who lost their lives to the river. No one would have expected the competition to end in tragedy. Might see lots of lifevest debate sprouting out soon.
Recently there has been juicy news and gossips abt a local male singer flirting a married woman through SMS. We have very few young male singers so everyone is just speculating among that few persons. Personally I thought it was one of them too, until I saw the uncensored picture...was quite shocked cos it was not one who I would have imagined. I doubt many would have suspected him too.
His initials are: CWL
I always thought he was a decent guy, at least in most ppl's impression. Though the papers have not exposed him yet, I hope he can give us an explanation soon.
Currently watching a new Taiwan drama, Romantic Princess (公主小妹). Starring Angela Chang and Wu Zun. Quite interesting plot! Have always liked watching dramas adapted from Japanese comics like Meteor Garden, Hana Kimi... The story is abt a girl from a poor family who suddenly discovers her true background linked to an extremely rich family. She is then brought to the mansion where she meets the 'prince' and lots of things start to happen after that.
Just installed a new online game: AuditionSEA. Affiliated to MapleSEA haha. It's a dancing battle game. Quite fun and addictive (for now). Totally different kind of game from MMORPGs where you go around fighting monsters and leveling until you get sian. In Audition, there are no boring moments as it constantly keeps you on your toes =). Try this if you like musical games or get tired from MMORPGs.

Half Deaf
Went to see the doctor just now and she did ear syringing for my left ear =). Now my left ear is 100% clear ^_^. Suddenly everything seems so loud. Could hear a mash of background noise which I couldn't before. Even a mouse click sounds piercing to my left ear.
However my right ear is still infected, has the 'totally blocked' feeling. The doctor says the ear canal is actually quite clear, except for the infection that caused a hole in my eardrum. It would take a few weeks for it to heal, after which I would gradually be able to hear.
Quite glad that I could regain half of my hearing, though it feels extremely imbalanced . Thanks a million to those who showed concern regarding my ear problem, as they gave me the strength to bear with the discomfort for quite a few days. And apologies to those who have to bear with my 'huh?', 'what?', 'sorry?' even when they are alr speaking very loudly. And thanks to someone who labeled me a 'chao hee lang'...lol.
Had to reject the invitation to Zouk with my camp friends yesterday. As a result, some also did not feel like going anymore. Now they are blaming me of being a spoilsport and pang seh last minute. Haiz, how to explain... Most importantly I hope I would be able to survive the Japanese listening test with only one working ear. 1 more week left!
After this episode I learnt how to cherish my ears and sense of hearing more. Have to think thrice before using a cotton bud...cos everything started from it...
Have you ever played such a tough Mario game? This is crazy:

Deaf
I am partially deaf now. Can hardly hear a thing. It feels weird when I'm speaking, can't tell how loud or soft my voice is. Quite scared that I might lose part of my hearing permanently. I'm already partially blind (without the aid of glasses) and I dun want to lose my sense of hearing as well.
This is what happened:
On Monday morning, water got into my right ear when I was bathing. Attempted to dry it but it was too deep. Went to camp with my right ear 30% blocked. Felt really uncomfortable as I couldn't clear it.
Finally work ended and I went to see a doctor immediately, hopefully it can help clear my ear effectively. The doctor said water occupied the small gaps between the earwax and the ear canal, causing it to be blocked. Using a scissors-like pincer (looks really sharp!), she helped to extract some earwax out of my right ear. It was very painful but I managed to bear with it, for the sake of clearing my ear. The ear canal started to bleed and she said it was okay and used cotton buds to clean the blood. She also gave me some ear antiseptic drops and earwax dissolving solution.
When I got home, my ear started bleeding again and I used cotton bud to clean it. There was really lots of blood, but I thought it would stop after some time. Shortly after, the ear suddenly became blocked, probably due to the blood flow blocking the canal. Tried to move my jaws to clear the passageway, but it became blocked again within moments. Eventually I gave up and went to sleep with my right ear facing down, thinking it might clear the next morning.
Tuesday morning came, and my right ear remained blocked. This time it's worse as it seemed the blood has dried and almost totally blocked the canal. Right ear 90% blocked now. Can hardly hear anything from that side, felt extremely uncomfortable. Couldn't do much at that moment as I was rushing to meet my friend for my first sushi buffet (^_^) at Suki Sushi Cineleisure, in celebration of the end of his A Level exams. Wanted to cancel the outing initially but did not want to be a spoilsport.
Went to see the doctor again at night, and waited for almost 2 hours (too many ppl). She said my right ear looked infected, so she gave me some antibiotics, and said it would require abt 2 weeks to recover. (so long!) To me it felt like something is blocking really deep inside but she claimed there was hardly any wax and blood anymore. Because of the infection, she was unable to do ear syringing (an effective process to wash out earwax). Argh... My Japanese exam is around the corner and listening is the most important component!
Wednesday morning, applied some waxsol (earwax solution) to my left ear. Was supposed to let it dissolve the earwax then let it flow out. However after tilting my head, jumping, digging, and all kinds of method, the solution remained stuck inside my ear. Managed to clear a bit and now my left ear is 30% blocked, on top of my 90% blocked right ear...
In the afternoon I applied waxsol to my left ear again, hoping everything could drain out at one go. The clearing seemed to become more difficult and then my ear became 60% blocked. Somehow the solution just cannot flow out. Either it's too viscous or it has become a sticky solid with the earwax. Even a cotton bud couldn't reach it and I did not want the bud to push the wax even further in.
Current condition: Left ear 70% blocked, Right ear 90% blocked. The tablets dun seem to help at all. It is really very bad now. Dun even feel like going back to camp. Even speaking is a torture.
Why am I always in the mercy of my bodily problems......

A-mei
Had been looking forward to her concert for a very long time! Finally watched her performance in Indoor Stadium on Deepavali night. Time to put away all sadness and enjoy her superb vocals!
It was the best concert I've ever been to! Okay lah, I went for 2 only. Jolin's and this. Comparing to Jolin's, A-mei's was much much better. Though A-mei did not dance as vigorously as Jolin, she performed a significant number of dance songs in addition to her classic slow ballads. It lasted for 3 and half hours compared to Jolin's short 2 hours. Jolin probably exhausted all her energy whereas A-mei did not even sound tired near the end. A true characteristic of a diva!
Took some pics but...

View of the 4 sided stage from my seat. Unfortunately mine is not the actual front so A-mei seldom faced us.

Lights out! Concert starting! A-mei emerged from the centre circular curtain.

After I took this photo I realised the reflections of the spotlights on the stage were too glaring. Can't really take a good shot.

And thus after taking this last photo, I decided to sit back and enjoy the show instead of taking photos which would turn out bad.
Loved the audience responses as well as A-mei's humorous replies. There was once someone screamed in a super high pitched voice when she was abt to sing the next song, causing her to giggle and be unable to start lol.
Anyway this was her repertoire of songs she sang: (Hopefully most of them are in order)
永远的快乐(First song)
发烧
A级娱乐
YES OR NO
记得
你是爱我的
真实
我要快乐
一个人跳舞
HIGH HIGH HIGH
BAD BOY
(Finale)
(There were more songs than those above but I dun know the song title haha)
Disappointed that she did not sing her classics like 哭不出来, 排山倒海 and 平常心, 狠角色, 感应 as well as the whole of 勇敢 album. (she didn't like that album issit? haha)
Overall it was a splendid show! It was definitely worth to spend on.

Ah Ma
Will never forget the days when my Grandma looked after my brother and I while my parents went to work. Cooked for us, brought us to school, etc. (Brought me to the wrong kindergarten before =S)
Even after my family moved away, she still called our home every now and then. Wanted to keep as much contact with us. Will miss her calls from now on...
Very exhausted after her final sending today, with several rituals and places we had to go. Eyes tired having to control my tears whenever I think of her...
Regarding what she always asked me through the phone, I would like to reply sth:
'Ah Ma, wa zoh jit ni pua liao.'

Funeral
It seems the passing of my grandma has given me more stress than depression. The last day of the wake happens to fall on the day of my guard duty (Sunday). Considering how small the guards manpower pool in my unit is, as well as duty date being an unpopular day of the week, mutual exchange was extremely tough. Called up some friends asking them for help to swap, but ended up being rejected with reasons like ‘I dun want your date’, ‘You find others can?’, ’I have to be at home’. To think I helped them swap my weekday duty with their weekend duty, covered their duties last minute due to a stupid, obviously-keng excuse, resulting in 4 guard duties total in October. So much for being kind. Ungrateful ppl.
Luckily with the help of my RSM, someone managed to swap with me. Was very relieved, as my parents were also bugging me on this matter.
Spent the last few nights at the wake, and stayed till past midnight. Could see my parents were very tired as they had to go to work early the next day. Tonight is supposed to be my ‘duty’ where I have to stay overnight and ‘guard’ the place till Sunday morning.
Was dreading Sunday to come, as I dun really like being in a gloomy, grave atmosphere. The scene of everyone getting emotional, bursting into tears as the coffin is carried into the van gives me jitters. Have to walk along the road as the band plays some loud distressing music, then make our way to the crematorium… It’s going to be a long tiring day.
Had my first ritual last night where monks and ppl dressed in black robes came and did some chants. Being a (grand)son I have to stand at the first row in front of the altar. There was someone at the side giving instructions like when to kneel, to stand, to bow, to change hand positions. As we trailed the monk to circle the area in a single file, I saw my sister smiling away -___-“. She seemed to be enjoying it eh? Probably she’s too small to understand anything, always being so excited during the wake, running ard the void deck like in a playground…
Received tons of blankets, wreaths and banners from several organizations. The pavements and void deck are almost flooded with such. The funeral package consists of gambling items like 20+ packs of poker cards, 3 sets of mahjong tiles (inclusive of mahjong paper and table). But seemed like nobody is in the mood of playing. Most were just folding incense paper. Had a strong urge to ‘kope’ the mahjong set, ha. Tons of packet drinks stored in the freezer, as well as an outdoor kitchen to prepare meals for us and the visitors. Looks like we will never go hungry and bored during the wake (sounds so inappropriate).
It’s only times like this where we can see so many relatives and friends from different sides gathered in the same place, esp when my extended family is so huge. Met ppl whom I’ve never seen for a long long time, including my ex-neighbour. The number of visitors everyday seems to be increasing, can’t imagine how many will be present on Sunday…
