What are you looking for?

Looks like my blog has attracted quite a few visitors from my module review entries. When it comes to exam periods or time to bid for new modules in CORS, module related searches that lead to my blog will increase. This also means as the number of modules I take increases, viewership will increase too haha.

Well, here's the evidence:

(FYI viewership counts are actually mostly contributed by past entries (and even by uploaded pictures) rather than recent entries. Thus any sudden increase in viewership doesn't mean much)

Just a simple glance will tell how 'popular' a destination my blog is for curious module searches. Let's comment on some of them:

--- I didn't know exam papers and questions can be searched through the net. I haven't done it before but I don't think anyone will upload them so freely for public to search. (at least for NUS) Isn't the Library Portal a better source to search for papers? If not available, approaching seniors would be the next best bet. I wonder if any student would scan and upload exam papers by themselves... That's against the University rules right? But anyway, most non-essay papers will have their questions collected back since answers are directly written on the question booklet itself.

--- Searching for sample cheat sheets? Don't be lazy, write it yourself! Lol.

--- Score range for an A grade? Please please...this question has been pondered, analyzed, asked, debated, rebutted to death by many university students, but nobody is able to give a definite answer. It differs from semester to semester, lecturer to lecturer, cohort to cohort. With so many influencing factors there is no use knowing the ranges (if available) from previous semesters. Just have to accept lor.

--- If anyone noticed at all, I made a typo with 迷路兵's new song. Looks like someone made the same typo (or misunderstanding) as me too haha.

--- If you're thinking what's 'Love Concierge', it's 2005 Mediacorp drama 爱的掌门人. The ending song is 勾勾手 by 郭美美. Another ending song is some cha-cha sung by 薛家燕. Just to add on, the main theme song is 我愿意 by 蔡淳佳. Why do I remember so much? Haha, it was one of my favourite dramas at that time. Is it showing in Indonesia now? (Look the the Google domain)

Not that viewership matters a lot to me, but I just want to know what my blog visitors are exactly reading. (and how are they entering here)

Will review my modules next week. For now I will flush out all my sem's knowledge from the brain and create memory space for my coming test.

Is this how the world is going to end?

An exclusive scene from the upcoming '2012'. The fateful day.

Wow...isn't that a little too catastrophic?

It would probably be a good movie for those who enjoy watching ships sinking, meteorites crashing onto Earth, raging floods in the city and turning into ice, alien invasion...

Here's a HD trailer on what to expect this coming November:

Speedy!

Came across this video, a compilation of some 'World's Fastest' records. Take a look:

Were you impressed? The one that impressed me the most is probably the fastest stamping one. The record is not held by any professionals in the field, but just by a normal OL (office lady). I wonder how long had she been working in that job (doing the same menial tasks over and over again) before she could achieve such a feat. Is that a compliment or not? Haha.

Do you have anything which you feel you could do fast enough, at least faster than an average person? (for eg texting, typing, etc) In fact I do. =) It's not really a big deal actually, and probably no one will care whether you can do it fast or not. I didn't notice it myself too until someone praised me for that, and even attempted to test my speed. Haha.

On the other hand, the one that made me the least impressed should be the clapping one. I just don't see much point to it. It's not a sport, nor game, nor hobby, nor pastime, and doesn't do any useful work. Well maybe such speed can become useful during certain musical performances haha.

Talking about usefulness, here's another interesting clip. World's most pointless machine haha. What makes it so pointless? Pay attention to the switch...

Even a machine needs its own privacy...

The Turtle that Wanted to Fly

There was once a turtle who was never satisfied. He lived on the sweet grass by the forest pool but still felt very bored.

One day, he noticed a large eagle flying overhead. He looked so graceful and flying seemed so easy that the turtle decided he would learn to fly too.

Then the eagle came to rest on a rock near the pool and the turtle saw his chance and said: "Oh handsome eagle, you fly so well. Please teach me how to fly!"

The eagle was astonished. "What?! Teach you how to fly? But you have no feather nor wings!"

Again, the turtle pleaded, "Oh please, Eagle, I'm sure I can learn." The turtle continued to persuade the eagle to teach him how to fly until finally, the eagle agreed.

He picked up the turtle with his large claws and flew high in the sky. Then, he let go of the turtle and told him to flap his limbs and fly.

The turtle flapped his limbs as hard as he could, but still, he fell like a stone towards the ground. Luckily, he fell into the bushes.

He was buried and badly shaken but had no serious injuries. Now, he promised not to try flying again.

Some updates

First of all RIP to the 5 dragonboaters who lost their lives to the river. No one would have expected the competition to end in tragedy. Might see lots of lifevest debate sprouting out soon.

Recently there has been juicy news and gossips abt a local male singer flirting a married woman through SMS. We have very few young male singers so everyone is just speculating among that few persons. Personally I thought it was one of them too, until I saw the uncensored picture...was quite shocked cos it was not one who I would have imagined. I doubt many would have suspected him too.

His initials are: CWL

I always thought he was a decent guy, at least in most ppl's impression. Though the papers have not exposed him yet, I hope he can give us an explanation soon.

Currently watching a new Taiwan drama, Romantic Princess (公主小妹). Starring Angela Chang and Wu Zun. Quite interesting plot! Have always liked watching dramas adapted from Japanese comics like Meteor Garden, Hana Kimi... The story is abt a girl from a poor family who suddenly discovers her true background linked to an extremely rich family. She is then brought to the mansion where she meets the 'prince' and lots of things start to happen after that.

Just installed a new online game: AuditionSEA. Affiliated to MapleSEA haha. It's a dancing battle game. Quite fun and addictive (for now). Totally different kind of game from MMORPGs where you go around fighting monsters and leveling until you get sian. In Audition, there are no boring moments as it constantly keeps you on your toes =). Try this if you like musical games or get tired from MMORPGs.

Crunchyroll!

Sounds yummy right? Haha, it's not a food lah, it's a website similar to youtube where you can view lots of videos (and I really mean LOTS), most of which can't be easily found in youtube!

Youtube usually provides short video clips uploaded by users but crunchyroll has drama episodes (Taiwan, HK, Japanese, Korean and even SG dramas!). Those who missed the shows during their actual broadcast can view them comfortably in crunchyroll haha!

Besides dramas, crunchyroll also has Taiwan variety shows, eg the most popular talent search competition Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao which I'm currently watching hehe. Guess x3, Kang Xi Lai Le, blah blah whatever you name.

What's more, it has movies too! LOL. Go check it out! Watched several Stephen Chow movies alr haha. (Pssst. There is I Not Stupid Too available too, can go watch if you haven't done so last year...)

I strongly encourage everyone to go sign up crunchyroll now. (yeah you need to sign in to watch but it's FREE!) You definitely wun regret it! Utilise this opportunity before (touch wood) the videos get removed. (Got a feeling this will not last very long) Lots of crunchyroll viewers seem to be very satisfied with it. =)

Looks like staying at home isn't that boring anymore!

One more thing: Remember the GROW game where you put objects in a certain order and it will grow? Here is a new one: Grow Island! Have fun! (Pls be patient for it to load =p)

S.H.E

For the past few weeks I'm going crazy over S.H.E, never felt that way since their debut in 2001. Like a bit the late hor?

I think it all started when I heard Chu Dian on radio in my workshop restroom last month. Suddenly felt very comfortable listening to it, and my appreciation of S.H.E songs went up by a lot. After that I started looking for videos and info on S.H.E's past, which led me to watching videos of Taiwan variety shows where S.H.E starred as guest. Their presence really livens up the show. =)

And thus I also watched many videos on Happy Sunday which they once hosted in. As well as the current Guess x3 where Selina and Hebe took over Rainie and Ah Ya as hosts. (but they seem to be just flower vases) And that led me to watching other Taiwan variety shows like Tian Cai Chong Chong Chong, Tai Cai Xiang Qian Chong, Yu Le Bai Fen Bai, Zhou Ri Ba Dian Dang. Enjoyed them so much to the extent that I think I'm addicted lol. Spent lots of time on Youtube haha.

Hmm, what's wrong with me ah?! Now I'm also thinking of watching the S.H.E drama Reaching For The Stars (Zhen Ming Tian Nv)... Was shown on Ch U before.

Yup, just listened to their new single Zhong Guo Hua over 933, the rap sounds rather interesting, like some tongue twister. Is that one of Jay's works? Looking forward to better songs in their new album haha...

Is this some kind of infatuation that will die down over time? Was once crazy over Gary Cao too, after watching this interesting video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5GKnOM4nfM&mode=related&search=

Crazy over Fahrenheit after watching Hana Kimi (heard the sequel is confirmed with Selina being the 3rd party between Ella and Wu Zun, yay!) Selina is fav member in S.H.E haha.

Other 'crazy' examples like Jolin, Stefanie, Tank...

S.H.E...Fahrenheit...Tank...do I sense some kind of Ai Wu Ji Wu here? Lol.

Last but not least, any interesting videos of S.H.E videos pls tell me k? Haha...

Looking forward to S.H.E's album, a preview version of their new song 中国话 is alr out. Anticipating Jocie Guo's album as well, haha. Wanna see what kind of songs she will bring us this time other than her usual kiddy festive songs. 林宇仲 has a very creative album name called 淋雨中, haha.

Anyway take a look at this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZaFTG9GAa4

Is that really Hebe? Since her 24th birthday has just passed, that must be a 1999 clip. Wow...really changed a lot, like Jolin. Tell me if you discover Selina's old video k? Haha.

Btw I went to camp late becos of 171 again last thursday, but I'm tired of ranting alr. You guys must be tired of reading my rants also. Just say 171 sucks.

It has been confirmed that I will be shifting to a bungalow near Orchard Rd...wah! Travelling to the city will be a breeze lol, I can even walk! Haha...so excited!

A Stressful Singapore

Apparently there is a leak of CCTV footages showing what actually happened on the MRT platforms during 2 of the track suicides last year:

Yishun MRT, last December 5th:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nV5VTkhdNg

What the person did was so unexpected...and the passengers were frightened away by the traumatising sight. It took me quite a few seconds to realise where the 'body' came from.

Admiralty MRT, last December 2nd (just 3 days before the Yishun one):
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/446565/admiralty_mrt_suicide/

No gore...but can be quite shocking for some.

After watching these clips...makes me wonder if Singapore is really a stressful place to live in, that ppl have to resort to such methods to gain sympathy and donations, haiz...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Can't wait for the last book to finally come out. And its title indeed reminds me of Bleach lol.

Still remember the case where a hardcore Harry Potter fan committed suicide becos he knew Dumbledore died before reading the book? Hopefully there will be no fans crazy enough to do that this time, esp when it's rumoured that someone really REALLY important is going to die in this book. (shan't give spoilers but i think you guys shld know who liao) Dunno whether true or not...

That's all for the book, since not much information has been released. As for the movie, the first trailer of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is already out:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/harrypotterandtheorderofthephoenix/

Did I see a kissing scene somewhere? lol.

Still so far away and they release trailers liao, like Spiderman 3. Yup, prepare for numerous movie outings in the middle of next year...lots of good movies showing at that period.

MRT deaths

Shocking! 2 MRT deaths within a week! It seems like the sensationalised media coverage on the Chinese Garden MRT suicide not long ago has backfired badly. Now the media hardly reports on such deaths, probably in order to avoid dramatising the incident or giving a benefit of sympathy which indirectly encourages ppl to commit suicide when at their wits end.

There was a disruption at Yishun MRT this morning during the peak hours, causing many to be late for sch/work as well as for fall-in in my camp lol. Heard it was a MRT jump...sooo expected. No news abt it though.

There was a death last sat too, at Admiralty station, reported as an accident. Who knows if it's really an accident or just a cover-up by the media. Hardly any news on this incident.

Few weeks after the Chinese Garden incident there was another death but the news was brought across lightly without much information...

So many MRT deaths recently since the Ang Mo Kio incident, let's take a look at history.

List of MRT jumps/falls: (in chronological order)

16 March 1997 - Kembangan

29 September 2000 - Kembangan

4 December 2000 - Eunos

30 November 2002 - Marsiling

11 January 2003 - Ang Mo Kio

30 July 2004 - Bishan

31 August 2004 - Bukit Batok
31 August 2004 - Redhill

15 September 2004 - Bishan

25 March 2005 - Buona Vista

28 December 2005 - Kallang

16 October 2006 - Chinese Garden

30 October 2006 - Clementi

2 Decemebr 2006 - Admiralty

5 December 2006 - Yishun

I dun think this list is complete...I remember one at Lakeside, no?

Some websites

Quite bored recently so went to search for some interesting sites from the net. Got most of them from forums and other ppl so I think I shall share some of them here.

Firstly, a puzzle game like Grow. Might be old but anyway here it is:
http://www.foon.co.uk/farcade/hapland/

Looks familiar? Played before alr? Nvm, there is still a second puzzle to this which is more difficult. Click on that obvious link on the site to get to Hapland 2. Even if you've completed both before, why not try again?

Next, a reflex game: (In fact there are two but they are similar except that the first one is harder than the second.)
http://www.eddiezone.net/flashgame/Restaurant.swf
http://www.funnyflash.com/games/dai_pai_dong/

Cute cooking game...read the instructions...very impt!

Thirdly, a rather interesting game that is neither a puzzle nor reflex game, just depends a lot on luck:
http://www.addictinggames.com/reactioneffect.html
My record is 1800+, try to break that! Hehe...can be very easy or very hard, you really need a lot of luck.

If you notice the domain, it says "addicting games". Yup, you can find a lot of online/flash games there. Good for those who are bored (like me). Anyway I found another interesting game there:
http://www.addictinggames.com/planarity.html

Of course there are more fun and addicting games than those above, so take some time and go check it out! With that, I think you can find the rest of the games yourself...

Last but not least, I just want to say that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie is coming up soon, at 17 Nov. (exactly one month from today) Thanks to Jeff's msn nick which reminded me abt this...hehe. The trailer looks pretty cool:
http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/gobletof....html?id=teaser

Compared to the prev 3 movies, this one shld have more action and exciting scenes. Really looking forward to that! Esp since this is the first HP movie I'm going to watch after reading the books this year, the characters and story are still fresh in my mind! ^_^

17 Nov...isn't that in the middle of our A lvls? Nvm, watching the movie shall be the first thing I'll do (probably what most ppl would do too) after the last paper (not including spaper) as a 'celebration'.

Grow!

Known this fun little flash game called 'Grow' for some time already and I guess I would intro all you to it. The game is very simple: you place objects onto the sphere/cube and watch them grow. Objects may interact with each other during a certain stage of their growth, so that means the order of placement is very important. Your aim is to achieve 'max lvl' for all objects. Good luck and have fun!

http://www.eyezmaze.com/grow/v3/index.html

Btw there are 3 'Grow' games available for now, you can access the rest of them via the sidebar. IMO the most interesting one is growcube. Turn on the speaker for the cute music too!
