Chu Xi seems especially quiet for me this year without any celebrations. Thanks to Zhenghua Sec for letting the neighbourhood listen to their celebration, and their 'wonderful' singing. =S No teacher to visit this year, or rather I dun think there is a need to visit them anymore...
Reunion dinner is the same every year. No plans to get packed like sardines in Chinatown for last minute shopping. Countdown programme doesn't seem to be very interesting. No tong xiao mahjong to immerse myself in. *Yawn* Com is still the best, but there's no one to chat with on msn, haiz. Feel like sleeping liao.
Maybe I shld study some jap before going to bed. Akai, Aoi, Kiiroi, Shiroi, Kuroi,......
Will try my best to keep my stomach empty for tmr, which means no eating from now on.
K I've decided to sacrifice all my angpow money this year for a dvd recorder.

CNY Chu (fu) Yi
So sad, my driving doesn't seem to be improving much. The instructor still has to tell me to do this and that. And my engine never fails to stall at least once every lesson. I also need to get used to analysing what I see from mirrors. Can see cars and roads but dunno how to react...haha.
I wanna buy a DVD recorder! But it's so ex!!! My old tapes are getting mouldy and unusable alr, I'll lose all their contents if I dun save them soon. >_<
OMG, the Ann Kok stripping scene yesterday has alr spread across the net, in animation gif format. Seems like many ppl are enjoying that scene, but I think Ann is very kelian lor. I heard she had many sleepless night becos of that scene. Anyway if anyone missed yesterday's episode and is curious to see, can ask me to send...>_< I hope no boliao sgeans will write in to the press and complain abt this scene...
Last time Zhang Yaodong stripped nobody seems to save that scene leh...haha.

My first time on the roads today! Good thing is I can travel faster and attempt the 4th gear, bad thing is I can't afford to have any mistakes. The most major mistake I made was stalling at the zebra crossing, when I was abt to move off...cos the gear was not engaged...zzz. Luckily it was not a main road, otherwise I'll get horns from cars behind. The neighbourhood roads I drove on today weren't scary at all, it's the busy roads near the cities that are scary >_<, I wonder if I've the courage to drive on those roads in the future. Speeding up to 4th gear is easy, but changing down when stopping is pretty difficult (for me). And it's the damn clutch (again) that I've problems with.
Watched Memiors of a Geisha...alone. Not bad lah, I din sleep anyway. (or rather I'm not sleepy) I had my eyes fixed on the screen for the whole duration. The story might be draggy at some parts but I find it quite touching. Some parts made me so sad, feel like crying. I appreciate the culture in the movie too =) The only thing that doesn't quite fit is their language...Japanese speaking English, sounds weird =S
Little Chiyo is so cute!!! ^_^
The theatre I went was situated at the 9th floor of Cineleisure, the newly built theatres I suppose. At the entrance was the E-max gaming centre...VERY NICE!!! The place is designed to be very open, no walls between public and the coms/gamers which means anyone can just get to the 9th floor and watch ppl play. There are also 'caged' areas with 10 coms connected, for competitions I guess. The overhead screens (those type that display movie times above the ticketing counter) on that level show on-screen games being played instead of movies. And its payment counter looks like a ticketing counter >_<, so big and so many counters. Initially when I reached that level I was thinking why is there another ticketing counter when there are alr so many ard cine, then I realised it belongs to E-max...
Saw so many familiar faces in Orchard today, girls only, since most guys not on this island alr. >_> Haiz...cmpb sucks.
Also saw a huge crowd gathering in front of Hyatt hotel, they seem to be waiting for some big star to arrive at the hotel... Hmmm, I wonder who's that...aiyah I shld stay and watch hor?
Can't believe I got lost in the underpass. I was heading towards Shaw House but the tunnel never seems to connect to that side of the road...I spent quite some time trying to figure my way but gave up and used a nearby overpass instead (longer way)...zzz, made me almost late for lesson.
First elementary jap lesson was really too 'elementary'. 90% of the stuff taught was what I've already known >_>. Romanji was used throughout the lesson...hiragana plzzzz...otherwise I'll never improve that way.

CNY Chu (fu) Si
Ok, the entry title is lame, so fast counting down to CNY liao. The anticipation this year is not as strong as the previous years but nevertheless I still look forward to hongbaos, cookies/candies and gambling, maybe mahjong too.
Second practical driving lesson today. A car is not as easy to control as I thought, becos of that damn clutch, posing so much problems during learning. All along I've been looking at my parents drive an automatic car >_<. After the TP test, I swear never to drive an manual car again >:(
Within 2 lessons, my engine stalled several times already, so paiseh, can't help but to apologise >_<. Laugh at me lor, laugh all you want...
Haiz, liddat how to go out to the public roads next lesson... (which is tmr...)
Yeah, I passed my FTT alr. A bit worried during the test cos the person beside me failed. (a big red 'FAILED' word shown on his screen) Then I checked my answers again and used my most logical/safety-minded deduction to decide my choices. My effort and practices paid off. ^_^ $12 in total...
Ruqing is teh EVIL...nuff said.
I heard Memiors of a Geisha is boring >_> <_<, kinda unexpected after so much hype abt the movie. Those who read the book may enjoy it but probably not for others. Many commented that they slept for half the movie...lol. Anyway I got time tmr before my jap lesson, maybe I shld go watch alone, and have a good sleep hehe.
On the contrary the reviews for I Not Stupid Too is better than I expected, made me more eager to watch it. Outing anyone???
Comedy Nite (gao xiao xing dong) is coming back again >_<. What are they up to this time??? @_@ Let's see whether it's better off watching campus superstar than this...
Who got buy Weilian's album? Reviews anyone??? I heard the music's good, but the mtv a bit the erm...stone, lol.
Shit I scratched my face, now got 3 scars liao. Din noe my fingernails so sharp lol.

Queenstown
Went to Queensway SC to buy my CNY clothes. Not sth that I'll normally do since I'm not particular abt clothings and fashion. But recently I've begun to be more aware abt it, and started to select carefully on what to wear. Maybe that instinct naturally comes as we grow up, we want to look good in front of others.
Met with an incident there (sth malu so I dun want to mention here) which made me wonder if non-chinese ppl in sg want to learn chinese. Esp when chinese media and entertainment in sg are more vibrant than that of english. Won't non-chinese ppl have the urge to learn chinese so that they can understand mandarin conversations witnessed in their daily lives, notices, music, variety shows, dramas, etc? Since they have lived among the chinese majority society of sg for their lives and exposed to chinese media and mandarin for many years, won't they be even more inclined to learn chinese?
Indeed there are some non-chinese in sg who can listen and speak fluent mandarin, so be careful of what one says in their presence, esp racist freaks. I also noticed that more Indians can speak mandarin than Malays. Issit due to their advantage in tongue when speaking the language...
I Not Stupid Too is coming soon! Jan 26! Yay!!! Plans for a movie outing? Hehe. Anyway you can view the trailer at I Not Stupid Too (2) official site. Shawn gonna get caned...poor thing. This movie more violent than the prev one. >_>
Yay x2! Just got Guo Mei Mei's new Taiwan album! No more 1-song-many-version album liao. Not bad lah, in fact I think some songs are quite nice esp the first 2 tracks. She got good voice mah, just that she sang wrong songs. -__- With this 3rd album, her prev 2 are practically redundant. IMO this shld be her very first album in sg instead, then can have better chances of gaining good recognition instead of being notorious now...sad lah. Hopefully ppl will start to regain confidence on her after this album, or has she been deemed a goner since the release of her prev 2? >_<

Depot Road
Ok, they (you know who) gave me a reply and I was supposed to call another friggin number. I tot it would finally be confirmed but you know what? They said my medical report was handed to the eye department last Dec and I have to call back again next week! WHAT THE F***********!
YOU MEAN MY REPORT WAS ACTUALLY DORMANT AND GATHERING DUST FOR 1/2 YEAR UNTIL DEC? WHAT'S F***ING WRONG WITH THEM???
Sry, need to vent out my frustration on that matter. Could have used more vulgarities but this is a blog after all, controlled by sg law. You see that I referred to them as 'them'.
I dun want to go back there again. That place is so dreaded and horrid. And why do I get the feeling that the person who answered my call is the particular one I dislike...
Haven't go in alr so much resentment, dunno how I am going to survive with the politics in there...

Bukit Batok
Yay, I passed my BTT at Bukit Batok today! (not Batok Batok, nor Bukit Botak -__-) Actually there is nothing worth to yay abt cos the test was really ridiculously easy, esp with the practices I took. No kick compared to O and A lvls lah...haha. Hopefully the upcoming FTT (Final Theory Test) will be more challenging. Even after completing BTT, there is still a long way to go on my training journey before acquiring a license.
For now, I just have a temporary license to keep myself satisfied: the Provisional Driving License (PDL). A mere small flimsy piece of paper, haiz. At least it's legal for me to drive on the roads now.
One encounter to share today: A foreign man, who can't speak English well, wanted to convert his foreign license probably. It seemed that he spoke quite rudely to the counterlady, judging from his inappropriate use of words like 'clear?' and 'never ever!'. I heard him say sth like, "Do you understand? If you dun understand, I will teach you! I'm going to give a lecture at..." Wah lau, that was really ill-mannered. Dunno how to speak English well still scold ppl for not understanding him. His tone sounded like he was reprimanding the counterlady, even if he din mean it. He was also speaking very loudly and could be heard by everyone at the queue. The counterlady was pissed too, from her expression and tone. >_< Sometimes I really pity ppl working at service counters which mainly involves direct communication with customers. They are the ones who will get the full blast of all the crap customers give.
Woke up at noon and saw clear sky and dry ground. Tot it would probably not rain today, but it came ard late afternoon. You know, youngsters nowadays dun like to carry umbrellas ard.

Bukit Timah
Bukit Timah has become my 2nd home in the past 6 years of study. Even though I had been seeing the same scenery over and over again while travelling to and fro school, I dun really remember the name and sequence of landmarks. All I know is where I shld alight. A bit exaggerating but hmmm, quite true to a certain extent.
Finally I can get away from this region and venture to other parts of sg (as if I'm a tourist, haha). No plans on going overseas, hee. Home is still the best! Actually my main point is, I shld start thinking abt my future alr, instead of holding on to the 'zou yi bu kan yi bu' mentality.
Many expressed concern over my enlistment status. Sadly, it's still unconfirmed as though cmpb has done nothing to update my pes grade since my last checkup on June last year. Din intend to alert cmpb actually (and let them overlook me if that's their blunder), but in order to avoid the case where my enlistment date is set way after April (and affect my university admission), I called them up today. Fortunately this time the customer service officer (or rather 'officress') offered to bring up my case to the medical officers, unlike the irresponsible, useless reply of "I dunno" the last time. Hopefully my enlistment date will be set in April, no earlier no later, otherwise it will disrupt my schedule.
That's the near future. Let's go further. Shall not cover anything during my 2 years in NS as it's so unpredictable. Will be contented with a 'good' vocation that's all. (what an understatement...)
Since I'm studying locally, NUS seems to be a good choice of university. (lol...as if I've so many choices liddat) Course would most probably be engineering, still deciding...
Most would associate s paper with scholarships. Whenever I discuss s paper with someone, the subject of applying scholarships will pop up somewhere. True that most s paper students are aiming for a scholarship, however the requirements of scholarships are not solely based on academic aspect. There is a limit to grading, eg. you can't distinguish a genius who always scores As from one who just scrapes an A in the exams. As long as you exceed a certain mark, you'll get an A, doesn't matter how high you get. Thus cca is another criteria for judging, which I seriously lack. I'm position-less in my cca and there's nothing in my achievements to brag abt. My record is quite empty, and I even had difficulties giving information to my CT (the lcc lor) for testimonial writing. CCA? Nope. CIP? Nope. Competitions? Nope. Really there's nothing to write. I doubt my CT knows anything abt my personality to write abt. Oya, my GP also cmi. >_<
If studying locally, s papers aren't important so I'm seriously disadvantaged. Well, I can forget abt scholarships for now, giving cca information just freaks me out. Another major problem is that I've really thought out of what scholarships to apply for, haha. Actually got some in mind but things like bond and cca records are holding me back. Is the monthly household income considered too?
Ultimately, will the scholarship lead me to a better job and a better future? All the worries abt scholarships originate from this damn qn.

Toa Payoh
Did you know Toa Payoh is voted to be the most self-contained residential town in Singapore? You can find almost every shop, facility and recreation there. A Toa Payoh resident can find no reason in leaving their town.
That's probably one reason why both its MRT station and bus interchange were kena-ed yesterday morning for the emergency exercise. Dhoby Ghaut was down too, but kinda expected cos it's the biggest station in sg. Ironically one of the most ulu stations in sg, Marina Bay, was chosen. >_> Anyway dunno why early sunday morning still got so many MRT passengers.
Saw the Renci item which Jacelyn was 'complaining' abt, probably that perilous stunt that Michelle Chia pulled off at the end. Looked as though her arms were abt to get twisted...
Hmm, ming yi fa shi cried...meanwhile the numbers jumped greatly, haha. Sgeans may not be generous but they are definitely sympathetic.
Maybe I'll go for Jap lessons after all, I feel like I'm rotting at home. Being invaded by mould hyphae.

BB
After this weekend passes, most of my friends will have alr gone to tekong liao. I wonder what's the cause of the 'screw up' for my case. Want to give pes then give sth like pes B, C or E lah, why give pes D which is nowhere. >_< I hate the person who created pes D!
Trying very hard to expand my knowledge during this long holiday, but dunno if they are waste of time. Any good movies or TV shows to recommend? I still have problems listening to American accent. Anything to do to solve this problem?
Eh, I heard Harry Potter gonna die in the last book. True or not??? When the book is released will we see msn nicks, forums, blogs screaming "Harry Potter dies!"? Will more ppl commit suicide this time after hearing the spoiler? Well, we'll see...
I think I'm losing it. Mahjong I mean. Lost a lot of money the day before. There seems to be a barrier preventing me from obtaining the finishing tile, zzz. Made a lot of wrong decisions also, haiz. Dun feel like playing mahjong liao.
Wanna write an email to the future? http://www.futureme.org/
Have fun! :)
Oya, HARRY POTTER DIES! Yeah, I beat everyone to it. I'm the first k? Haha...

Remember to tap
Ezlink student concession has expired. Remember to tap the card when you alight from a bus, haha. Almost forgot to tap today, but remembered the last minute when I saw the other alighting passengers tap their cards. Must treat myself as a working adult liao. Any concession schemes for NS men? Or pre-NS-post-tertiary concession? >_>
Went to BBDC to apply for a fixed instructor grp. No recommendations from anyone so had to choose by purely looking at the instructor's photos. Can't tell which ones are good, haha. Generally the grp I choose must have instructors who:
- smile
- dun frown (expressionless or stoned-look is fine with me >_>)
- have no obvious mole on the face
- are not bald (-__-)
Even with all these criteria, I will still be doubting my choice until I get to meet one of them 2 weeks after. (damn the book-2-weeks-in-advance thingy)
Took the bus at the wrong time, it was terribly filled with students. Ah, miss the days when waiting at the bus stop with several fellow schoolmates and squeezing in the bus with them is a daily matter. How nostalgic...
Proceeded to the bank after that, wrong time also, so crowded. Issit always that crowded everyday or becos today is the first working day of the year. I pity the Indian policeman guarding the bank lor, he was fidgeting behind the counter restlessly giving the sianz look. What a boring job, lol, worst than the counter ladies. At least they still get to interact with the customers.
Got one couple went to the wrong counter and the counterlady shook her head and exclaimed, "I din press! No, I din press!" (-_____-")
Then another old woman forgot to take back her account book and just left the bank like that. The counterlady was shocked and had to go out and look for her...-__-
Actually I think the counterlady shld ask the policeman to chase after her, since he was getting so restless, haha.
On second thought, better not, skali the old woman heart weak, will get a shock when the policeman approaches her, lol.
First time visiting the bank on my own, hope the counterlady wun find me loso cos I asked a lot of qns. >_> Better be safe than sorry...

First time visiting the bank on my own, hope the counterlady wun find me loso cos I asked a lot of qns. >_> Better be safe than sorry...

Welcome 2006!
Yawn, quite a boring start for the new year cos I'll be at home for the next one and a half weeks or so. Feel like going to school temporary to attend some lessons, haha. Can help out with unfinished tutorials also ^_^.
Driving lessons are extremely ex lor. 100 minutes $66 liao. Have to attend abt 20 of such lessons also >_<. Those who aspire to drive pls make sure you have 2k+ ready at hand.
Read up some forums and realised it's so easy to fail the driving test. The moment you talk back or argue with the tester you'll surely fail. If you dun stop at the zebra crossing even when there is no pedestrian at all, the tester will give you points liao. If you dun keep left even when you're going to turn right, points given also. >_< omg
House undergoing major rearrangement now. At the end of the day I'll have my own room with my own com :)
