Felt that this week was rather long, probably cos there was too much time to slack and I brought nothing to keep me occupied in the bunk. Training consisted mainly of IMT, hand grenade throw and IPPT dinosgntic + ET.
Had so much fun in the IMT. The darkness and air conditioning made the place so conducive for sleeping/resting, when one is not shooting. It feels so stressful sometimes to see the firer I'm assisting doing so well, never missing any aim. Basically I'm not a very good shooter so I just hope to pass the practices and venture into the live firing range. Wonder what's the difference between shooting virtual rounds and live rounds...
The once-in-a-lifetime (esp for pes C recruits) hand grenade throw was a very great experience. Never held such a destructive weapon on my own hands before. Personally I find the sound of explosion of the grenade very shiok, hehe.
My IPPT is still a failure. I guess the outcome would be the same for next week's actual test. It was my first time taking 2.4km run without any laps/rounds. (only ran once around the school) Had the motivation to run faster but still failed eventually. Haiz.
Thursday was a rather screwed up day cos almost every activity in the schedule was cancelled due to various reasons. Ended up slacking in the bunk waiting for further instructions. Same goes for Friday afternoon when the Cat 1 siren went cuckoo. (activated again just few minutes after it was lifted even though the sky was clear and not raining at all) The break was long enough for everyone to take an afternoon nap, haha.
1 more week and 2 days left before POC. How time passes so quickly. Can't wait for block leave! We are allowed to bring cameras in next week...shld I?

Field Camp
Survived the field camp! Good that it only lasted for a few days and did not burn away my weekend. The weather was fine and did not rain at all, though lightnings and black clouds were seen at times. The ground was hard and dry, which made the camp cleaner and more convenient. ^_^
Field camp was very slack all the way. Lessons were carried out at lightning speed, followed by short practices. The slackest training was the one which we practised how to move abt in a forest firing blanks. Everyone shot only 30 rounds each and the rest of the 1000 rounds were shot by the PS such that all the rounds could be used up quickly. After all we wun be training to be a combat soldier in the future...
Powder bath was fun! Hehe, but nothing beats having a shower. I hate the darkness...
To sum up, the field camp was actually quite dull and boring, as most of the time we were just sitting around our bashas, chit-chatting for hours. Really damn slack. Even my PS said it was the slackest field camp he has ever seen.
BIC at the last day was quite fun, though I suffered some cuts and the rifle became extremely dirty. A wonderful experience! ^_^
Everything was going on fine until we returned back to the company line where tempers flew and ppl started scolding and shouting at each other, mainly due to miscommunication. Ended off with sergeant screaming at the platoon and threatening to give us hell for the rest of our bmt. Sigh...what a bad day.

Long Weekend!!!
This week has been rather short, with just 3 effective days of training. The bookout day, which is yesterday, merely consisted of ET in the morning followed by an early lunch before we set off to the mainland for an excursion to the Newater plant and a musuem. The trip to the plant is quite interesting, with interactive features obviously showing that the interior is built specially for visitors. The rest of the trip is just plain boring.
Next week is my field camp liao, but I'm not very prepared for it leh. I dun like the idea of camo-ing my face, dirtying myself and can only take a powder bath. I heard during field camp we have to rely on our buddies a lot. Glad that my buddy is very understanding and patient, and both of us haven't had any conflicts so far.
Barely scraped thru my rifle handling test, screwed up many parts of it but luckily the sergeants closed one eye and passed all of us, probably cos we're not going to be combat soldiers next time, haha. I suck at handling technical stuff lah. I doubt after graduating from BMT I'll get to handle any weapons at all. Like what the commanders said, throwing a grenade is once-of-a-lifetime opportunity for us pes c recruits.
I'm still coughing leh, it's never going to cure like this >_<

A sick platoon
Glad to say that I've survived the 2 weeks confinement without any status. Did not report sick once and had no intention to do so. Haha, dunno why I'm so 'healthy', tot I might get a fever or sth but it never came. However I kena-ed the infamous 'tekong cough'. Almost everyone in my platoon caught it too. >_>
My platoon is the weakest one in the whole company, the number of men behind the file increased like crazy throughout the first week, peaking at 28 in the middle of second week, more than fighting fit strength. Can form another platoon liao, haha. Dunno if those ppl are really ill or just keng. IIRC only 17 ppl took the first IPPT cat test, so pathetic. There was even one period when a whole section got wiped out, lol. Proud to say that my section has the lowest fraction of ppl on status. =D
Sad to say my platoon is always the first one to gather but last one to carry on. All thanks to the so many ppl on status which makes counting strength so difficult for the IC, as well as a particular person who often drags the platoon into the water by his slowness, blurness and unwillingness to cooperate. He never fails to piss both the sergeants and us off, by screwing up at the crucial moments, testing the sergeants' patience and making our days hell. I guess every platoon will surely have a black sheep...haiz.
Must stay healthy for the next 5 weeks, dun like to report sick...*cough cough*

Back Home
Wee...I'm home! The 2 weeks confinement in Tekong was probably the longest period of time I've left home. Missed my com, tv, bed, and almost everything in my house. Now that I think back, 2 weeks wasn't very long after all. But time seemed to go very slow in bmtc compared to being at home. For these 48 hours of book out, so much things to do, so little time, argh.
My sectionmates are quite nice, in fact I feel lucky to be in my section cos among the 4 sections in the platoon, mine has the nicest, most disciplined, most guai bunch of ppl. Abt half of them are from JCs, the rest from ITE and some other schools, but I dun think there is anyone from poly. In the platoon there are ah bengs with lots of tattos but fortunately none of them is from my section. 1/3 of the platoon smoke and most of them are the malays, mostly in other sections too.
As for the food, I feel it's better than what I usually eat at home. Or rather, it's similar to what I eat at home but better. The food they serve matches my taste and appetite and hence I was able to finish almost every meal, unlike my sectionmates who kept complaining abt the food and threw most of them away. What a waste. I think I'm the only person in my section enjoying the cookhouse food lor...haha.
Staying at the 5th floor is so tiring, but it's generally quieter and the scenery from the window is nice. Overlooking the sea with the mainland at the horizon, a clear view of the planes flying past the sky, really looks like a chalet in a holiday resort. ^_^
Training wasn't that tough in the first 2 weeks, which was packed with lectures and lessons, and some physical training here and there. After all it was just an adjustment period. I can foresee tougher trainings coming in my way, but how tough can they be compared to those of the pes A/B recruits? Hehe...
