Fish!

Thanks a million to Zhe Han for letting me come along with him to watch Liang Jing Ru's concert! Starting to appreciate her more now, in both her songs and looks. I think she looks quite pretty lah, with her big eyes...heee, unlike what others said. Her voice is so silky too!

Got to shake her hand too! Hers was so warm, compared to my freezing cold hands. Everything went by so fast, din get to look at her carefully, except her eyes lor. Yup that's my first time getting in close contact with a celebrity. =) So exciting!

ZH's camera broke down lahz, so no pics...only got the pu wei zhi ye one. She wore the same clothes.

Chong Pang Camp

Yup, that's the camp I'm finally posted to. If nothing happens that would be the camp where I remain in till ORD. Took me so long to settle down in one camp after wandering ard for more than half a year.

Is one of the few to be posted there after my 'job attachement'. Which means I'm separated with most of my friends...sobz. Probably would not see them again unless someone takes the initiative to organise sth. Haiz, feels so close yet so far. Like my BMT friends, haven't seen them since POC. So much for going thru thick and thin during our recruit times... In the end just pai pai pi gu say goodbye lol.

Expected to remain in Sungei Gedong, after hearing so many rumours. But when the posting result was out, not even a single one was posted back to the same unit as OJE. So pathetic...SAF so screwed up lol. I bet the my OJE unit is cursing and swearing like hell. =p

Quite surprised that I would eventually settle down in an Air Force camp, as I always thought Armour camps are the only routes for us armour tech. Good to have a different experience. However by switching from Army to Air Force, there are many changes implemented which I din expect:

- Army and Air Force credits are different and can't be used at the same time. (Talk abt integration) Had to spend all my Army credits within a day on worthless shoes. Shopping in emart sucks, there is really nothing else you can buy with so much credits.

- Green beret...ya, getting so used in seeing blue beret. Of course black beret looks the best right? (let's not talk abt red)

- White RSAF PT shirt. Much better than the grey army shirt IMO. At least sweat stains aren't that visible. Sweating in the grey shirt looks disgusting.

- No. 3. Might or might not wear that during special parades. Never thought I would get a chance to wear no. 3, looks so smart =). However the chance is very very small now.

- Blue two-piece coverall. Definitely looks cooler than the pyjamas-like one-piece green coverall. Everyone thinks so. Shitting in toilet will no long be a hassle. =p

After a week in Chong Pang, I can say that life as a tech there is really slack, compared to Gedong. Their drills also sucks lol. Bersurai is no diff from ke kanan pusing. Perhaps cos Big Boss is not ard...

Not to forget thanking my helpful friend who agrees to ferry us to and fro the camp everyday. Saves me so much trouble taking a bus there on my own.

And yup, Jin Hin is there as well. Met him on the first day. Goodbye to Yong Feng haha...

Hope my long Christmas-cum-Hari-Raya-cum-New-Year holiday leave will be approved tmr!

Final Phase

Phase 1 - Basic Military Training (BMT) - 2 months
Phase 2 - Basic Technician Training (BTT) - 3 months
Phase 3 - On Job Experience (OJE) - 2 months
Final - Full Fledged Technician? - till 2008

OJE is finally over, but I feel that I din learn enough to become an official technician...section too slack alr, haha. Once again, SAF keeps us in suspense by announcing our final posting at the very last minute.

Finally took my IPPT this week before the window closes. As expected, silver is beyond my reach, or rather I dun have the motivation to achieve a silver.

Despite all the long distance running, my 2.4 timing dropped from 11 min+ in BMT to 12 min+ now. Chiong-ing is really not my forte.

Had an off on Friday, went to a non-lak-sup KTV with some friends at Katong. $20 for 3 hours for a large room. Very worth it right? (compared to kbox and partyworld >_>) However there are fewer new songs, and the song selection interface sucks.

Everyone was so addicted that we decided to go for another 2-hour session lol. Singing can indeed be very addictive...

Anyway Guo Mei Mei just released her new song! Not bad... another fast tempo cute cute song. But I like, haha, esp when christmas is coming.

So great to have an off, but somehow it is cancelled out by my weekend 24hr orderly duty yesterday. Practically rotted in camp. Nothing else to do except sleep and watch tv...so wasteful.

Before I forget, happy birthday to Zhe Han! Sry for having the buffet so late.

Family and solo day

Had a battalion family day in sentosa yesterday. Seems that I've been going sentosa so often these days, 2 times within 2 months and 3 times within a year. Who says the number of visitors to sentosa is dwindling...with ppl like me haha.

Supposed to be involved in a game but I guessed the game IC had already found other more enthu ppl to join the game. This kind of thing always happens in team games, when the official team members are nowhere to be found.

And thus I went to play another more interesting game instead: Treasure Hunt! It was not my idea in the first place, in fact the game was never intended for army guys, but for wives and kids. The organiser couldn't find anyone to participate and hence approached the group of us. That was when one of my friends came with the silly idea to take several questionaires and fill them up with the correct answers. The game required travelling around sentosa and obviously no one had the time nor even bothered to do so. Luckily my friend had a car and decided to drive a few of us around in search for the answers to the questionaire.

Indeed the trip took abt 30 min only, much shorter than we (and the organisers) expect if we had resorted to walking instead. We filled up the several questionaires confidently and wrote down random names to represent us lol.

In the end, some of my friends who did not come with us had to go up the stage to collect prizes without knowing what happened. Apparently we were the only ones to participate in the treasure hunt so the prizes were practically free for us to grab, hehe. All thanks to the silly idea which worked!

Somehow I think the organisers were aware of our 'conspiracy', since the answers were written with the same ink, same handwriting, and submitted at the same time. So obvious it was done by same group of ppl. However what can they do? No others participated in the game, they shld be happy that there was at least a group of enthu soldiers.

Anyway after the short family day event which only lasted till noon, I went to vivocity again...on my own haiz. Nobody wanted to come along with me, so sad =(. I went there with a purpose lah, to look at a small exhibition/display. At the same time I explored the mall more thoroughly. Being alone makes it so easy to walk anywhere and see anything I like.

Went to vivomart, which is really really huge and ying you jin you too! The food corner is esp overwhelming with countless shelves lining the area. Visited the controversial candy empire too (din see any signs around, not even the 'all are welcomed' one). Was tempted to buy some candies but they seem so ex. Oh ya, there was a doctor dressed in white coat walking behind the pharmacy counter in watsons...so weird. Made a trip into toy'r'us too, haha I never grow old. Vivocity is really a good place to shop since there are soooo many things there. Unfortunately it was raining for the whole afternoon so din get to walk the sky garden at level 3, and enjoy the murky brown play pool =P.

Din spent a single cent after all the window shopping at vivo, but spent 2.50 on a ramly burger at a pasar malam near my flat. Ahhh...the memories of a ramly burger...

1 year after

If you guys still remember the absurd entries which I churned out during the A lvls period, yup it has already been a year. This time we are looking at our juniors mugging hard for their exams. It seems that I've forgotten how an exam stress feels like, esp rotting with my time at home in front of my com for the whole year round, watching animes and playing games without any thoughts of reading up the past notes and textbooks.

All the best to my juniors as well as my ns friends who are retaking A lvls. Be confident! You guys can do it! One month shld pass very soon.

Lalala...so free so free...

Answer

Thank you those who have participated in this game! I think this game is created such that nobody could get all correct, except myself hehe. Glad that everyone got at least 1 correct, so part of me is actually being understood =). Relf got the top score (as I expected =p), almost all correct for his 2nd try except for a silly point which I think should not be included cos it's so tricky that no one would have guessed it. Anyway the answer is 3,4,13,16,19 and here are the explanations:

1) I have 2 computers in my room.
(Dun be shocked haha, I really have 2 coms in my room. One is my main while another is for games or visitors who wish to use the com as well =P)

2) I passed my 2 driving theory tests in the first try.
(But I failed my TP test on the first try sobz...)

3) I played the clarinet for 8 years.
(I regret setting this point lol. Nobody would have guessed that the figure was the wrong thing. 4 years of sec sch, 2 years of jc, altogether 6 years. Not as long as 8 years...>_> What a lousy point.)

4) I enjoy reading books.
(I rather watch than read...I cant conquer pages of tiny words)

5) My favourite genre of games is RPG (Role Playing Game).
(True dat)

6) I rarely play PC games.
(I have 2 coms but i rarely use them to play pc games cos my com specs is not that good. My 2nd com is used for playing console games eg PS2, Xbox, not for pc games.)

7) I dun really like Jay Chou's songs.
(Why ah?)

8) I suffer from very high myopia.
(This is what landed me into pes C)

9) I was once the top PSLE student of my primary school.
(Yes it's true! I'm really that qiang!*arrogance* But my aggregate is damn low compared to top students of other schs.)

10) I am colour-blind.
(I hate titration!!!)

11) I can't play a piano.
(Those who have musical background should know what the black and white keys mean, and which key is C, D, E and so on. Need not be a piano player to know that. Pressing random keys is not considered as playing a piano...)

12) I watch Channel 8 often.
(I thought the previous entry on Star Awards is already a big giveaway.)

13) I started learning Japanese this year.
(For your info I took 3rd language Japanese in Sec 1 but quitted 9 months later, so by right I started learning 6 years ago and then resumed this year. My very-basic foundation is there already.)

14) I dun listen to English songs.
(English songs enter from one ear and exit the other, except those in my primary school song book lol)

15) I have 2 siblings.
(Used to have 1 only)

16) I am planning to study Mathematics in NUS.
(I need not explain this one.)

17) I have never ridden on the tank that I specialise in.
(Yes it's true. I've never ridden on M113 and SM1 before. Not even travelled a metre with it. Firstly I dun have a license, secondly it's too stuffy and noisy.)

18) I have tried smoking before.
(I'm not as guai as you guys think. I even tried twice, once during BMT and another not long ago. Seeing so many of my friends smoke I'm really curious to know what makes smoking so addictive.)

19) I am a Teochew but I understand more hokkien than teochew.
(My grandparents are from the province of Fujian in Xiamen, so what do you think?)

20) I made a few friends through the internet and met up with them.
(I look forward to meeting them again, but they are busy ppl haiz)
