171 Bus Rant

Grrr...Service 171 is always so cock up in the morning! Damn frustrated and angry this morning at the bus stop. Ok so this was what happened:

Reached the bus stop at 6.55am and waited till it started to rain. As 171 did not arrive by 7.10am, I figured that I might have missed the first bus, the one that I usually take to camp. Eventually 171 came at 7.15am and the '171 regulars' (including me) started to move to the front, ready to board the bus. Since it was raining, everyone tried to stand under the shelter, resulting a seemingly crowded bus stop.

But guess what? 171 actually zoomed past the bus stop, without any sign of slowing down or whatsoever, despite ppl frantically waving their hands to get the driver's attention. As the bus passed by, I noticed that it was not really packed at all! There were ppl standing but dispersed throughout the length of the bus, it could probably hold much more passengers. Moreover during my past trips, the bus driver was able squeeze everyone on board.

Either the bus driver of that 171 was inconsiderate or plain lazy. He din even bothered to stop and try his best to squeeze everyone. We know that 171 frequency is terrible in the morning, and we can't expect a bus to zoom by and another bus to come along 5 minutes later, unlike 190. Furthermore it's the morning peak hour when ppl have to rush for work/school, not the evening peak where most ppl are just rushing home to rest. Ppl can't afford to miss the bus, esp when they have to report to work ON TIME. And this morning the driver din even bother to let some passenger up the bus (though probably not all would be able to squeeze into the bus). How inconsiderate!

As the 171-takers watched the bus pass by in dismay, some immediately took out their phones to inform others that they will be late. I took out my phone too, to inform my IC that I would be late. =(

A very very very long wait followed. Could notice the 171-takers getting very impatient. Throughout my entire time at the bus stop, I witnessed 10 over 190s and several 960s. How I wish I could have taken one of those buses, so I wouldn't have to worry abt missing a bus. It sucks to depend on 171 everyday.

Finally at abt 7.45am, 171 appeared and a bigger crowd was formed ready to chiong up the bus. But soon after, the disappointed crowd started to disperse...becos the bus was not 171 ha ha ha. It was 963 instead. 171 is usually confused with 963 and 966 as they turn in from the same road at the junction.

And the long wait resumed. The supply of 190s was seamless. Finally, the second 171 really appeared at 7.55am. OMG I actually waited for A FULL HOUR! Amazing... Dun understand why the time interval was a horrendous 40 min, twice of the usual interval. Expectedly, the large 1-hour accumulated group of 171-takers barged up the bus the moment the doors opened. Along the group, I jostled my way in too. Call me an ugly Singaporean or anything but I can't afford to give way and miss the bus anymore, was already very late...

Some passengers complained to the bus driver the moment they board. Luckily the bus driver was nice and understanding and tried to contained all the 171-takers into the bus. Thanks to him as well as the considerate passengers who squeezed 'very hard', nobody was left outside. =) If only the driver of the first 171 was as understanding as him...

Shall not elaborate what happened after I reached camp. Fortunately I wasn't given any extras or punishment, otherwise I will never forgive 171.

This is the second time I've ranted abt 171. Given the 'cockupability' of 171 in the morning, I wun be surprised if another rant comes along. But I seriously hope this kind of situation will never happen again. It's kinda hard to have such expectation when I'm going to take 171 for 1 more year or so...haiz.

Welcome Back Mr Bean!

Used to like watching Mr Bean comedies on TV during my primary school days. Who could forget the famous Mr Bean's 'hymn'? Bought the series on CD and watched them over and over again. Would pause my work and watch Mr Bean when I occasionally caught the nth broadcast of the comedy on Ch 5, even though I've watched it several times and knew what was going to happen next. Mr Bean's antics never seem to bore me at all.

Sad that I din manage to catch his first movie...like abt 10 years ago? This time I'm not going to give Mr Bean's Holiday a miss, which is said to be the last Mr Bean's story. And Singapore is one of the first countries where this movie is screened! Do you know that Rowan Atkinson is already 52 yrs old? OMG! Acting as Mr Bean seems to make him look younger, lol.

Glad to be able to watch the movie with ZH yesterday. Quite funny, though some humour seems to be recycled from his previous shows. I think the last part where Mr Bean fits his own videos to the movie narration was rather well done. The humour lies in the relation between what was shown on the screen and what was being said by the narrator, which most ppl din seem to notice haha. The ending was a bit cheesy, but well...

Anyway if you used to be a fan of Mr Bean's comedies, I would recommend watching his last movie. However if you can't seem to absorb Mr Bean's humour, a weekend ticket is probably not worth it. =)

Hanazakarino Kimitachihe

Finally the series is ending tmr on Ch U, but I couldn't wait over the weekend and went to watch the finale on Youtube haha. Like most ppl, I din really enjoy the ending. It is rather incomplete which suggests a future sequel. However the sequels of most dramas aren't as good as the first instalment (eg. Meteor Garden 2 which got horrible reviews). If there were to be a Hana Kimi 2, hope it wun be a nightmare lol. And pls dun change the casts...can't imagine Hebe or Selina acting as Ruixi hahaha...

To those who are unable to watch on Ch U, Youtube has the whole series uploaded. Watch them before they are removed due to copyright infringement.

My liking for the song 专属天使 has grown fonder after watching Hana Kimi, as well as most ppl. Cos I heard the many contestants sang this song for the Campus Superstar audition haha. Wonder if any of them was able to pull off this difficult song up to standard; IMO it's better to pick a not-so-popular song instead lol. Anyway I took a liking for another similar song by Tank 非你莫属. =)

With upcoming singers like Tank and Cao Ge, I see a good future in the chinese music realm. But I notice the pitch of male songs are getting higher and higher, less and less powerful, more and more karaoke-unfriendly, compared to past songs lol.

Btw I have bought tickets for Jolin's concert on April...again my parent's idea. They are soooo addicted to concerts. This is my first, but they have watched abt 5 before me, and are going to watch the Jacky Cheung one soon. And my bro is going for the Mayday one too... My family a bit too much money to spend hor? But at least I dun spend on taxi fares when I'm late for outings lol. *glances at 'someone'*

Actually I wanted to watch the S.H.E concert...but well...nvm.

300

Watched this highly-rated movie yesterday! What a simple name for a complicated movie.

It seems like every scene is an art, some images look really beautiful on the screen. The entire movie is filmed under blue and green screens, a unique and apt feature which makes it look as if everything came to life directly from the graphic novel. The battle scenes were splendid, comparable to that of Troy. It feels like a game lol, spartans conquering stages of invasion with a 'boss' in each battle.

Overall it was very worth watching, the best movie so far I've watched this year.

Anyone remember this drama?:

One of the best local drama of all times. Anyway it's currently showing every sat 3.30pm. FYI, it's a 10-years-ago drama! (shown in 1997)

----------------------------

Hmm...just realised that the new Fann Wong hospital drama airing tmr has Tian Shi by Mayday as its starting theme and Bei Pan by Gary Cao as its ending theme. Both are my favourite songs!

Hopefully this drama is able to live up to its splendid theme songs.

My entries are getting more and more random nowadays...haha.
