Stressed

Not sure if I'm truly stressed, or just making myself stress...

My IC has disappeared for the past 2 rehearsals, leaving me to control the contingent alone. Not an easy task when they don't listen to instructions or dilly dally. Plus I'm a poor leader, can't seem to grab ppl's attention. =(

I want my Saturdays back, I dun need those offs! Off is a torture to spend alone at home. The new MMORPG Granado Espado doesn't help too, after realising it's just another grinding fest. (And you can even leave it to auto-level)

My PC wants me to go for IPPT gold, after getting silver for the first time during my last attempt. And I really feel it's impossible for such unfit person like me! Now he's putting my name in for every single IPPT slots, wants me to go running with 2IC after work. That's damn exhuasting. >_<

My student seems to keep postponing every tuition session, usually at the last minute! Shall close one eye since she hired me and I'm taking money from her. >_> But it's quite tiring to rush for tuition after a full day of work.

My sis still doesn't know how to read and write simple words, and she's alr in K1. Dunno how she always manage to score full marks for spelling. Wonder how she's going to cope with studies next time. And ya she's really lazy too.

Last but not least, I've guard duty tmr while most are enjoying their long Vesak holiday. =(

RIP Calvin

Thank you for your companionship during my BMT days. BMT will not be endurable without such a friendly and helpful buddy. Though I might not have known you for a very long time, I do greatly cherish the experience of going though tough trainings together, times when we chit chatted in bunk, times when we struggled to pass IPPT, times when we were just learning how to handle a rifle, times when we slept in bashas under the night sky...

Regretted not contacting much with you after POC, however memories of our friendship will always be in my mind. You shall be greatly missed.

Pirates

Watched Pirates 3 with ZH yesterday night. Looks like the only available time for me to watch movies is Friday night. Quite tiring. The movie is almost 3 hours, longer than Spidey 3. My butt was alr hurting at around the 1 hour mark. Too tall, can't rest my head on the seat, and the narrow leg space almost gave me cramps. >_<

Zzzz at some parts where there were too much talking. But the action parts were really exciting, esp the final battle. The monkey and parrot were amusing =), as well as those lame Jack Sparrow parts.

Like the previous movie, there is an extra scene after the credits. But at least this one is much more meaningful than the 'Dog on the Throne' thingy. Please remember to stay =).

Hopefully can get to watch Shrek 3 soon =).

Is it weird to give commands/orders to a group of ppl with majority higher rank than me? That's what I felt today during the NDP rehearsal. And guess what they replied? =p

I think I'm getting into some ppl's nerves cos I've too many MAs lol.

EDIT: I just realised the significance of the extra scene... Makes the already sad ending even sadder...

Damn pissed off...by bus again

Ok some of you might know that there is a bus stop just across the road from the back exit of Orchart MRT, and there is a pedestrian crossing right in front of the bus stop.

Was on the way back from my MA when I came out of the MRT station and saw bus 700 approaching, which I wanted to take. However the traffic light was at red man and I couldn't cross. Nobody boarded 700 and it was about to drive off when the lights changed to green man. 700 stopped and I proceeded to cross the road quickly to catch the bus.

This is the part where I'm utterly disgusted with: I tapped the door several times but the lady bus driver refused to open the door! And she even waved her hands in a frustrated manner to gesture me to go away! I was very shocked, but couldn't do anything much.

And thus this bus driver refused to let a passenger up the bus at the bus stop.

The bus stopped about half a minute (with me waiting outside) for the traffic light to turn green before driving off.

What kind of service is this? It's not as if the bus have to rush off or sth. It still had to wait for the lights to turn green! I think the bus driver really has a serious attitude problem. Though I feel the 170 driver don't deserve to be beaten, this 700 driver definitely deserves a bashing!

Really tempted to write a complaint to SMRT, but then I realised I didn't note down the plate number in the fit of anger haha.

Anyway the ktv version of 中国话 is out! Time to start practising haha...

Misfortune

Life is just so unpredictable. We'll never know when and how misfortune could suddenly fall upon us. It's really unexpected to hear bad things happen to our close ones or people we know, especially when the situation is not within anyone's control. Therefore we must cherish every moment we live, and the existence of our family and friends around us.

There goes my weekend. So sry for not being able to organise, suggest or attend any outings on Saturdays anymore. Sundays would depend on the postponement of my Jap lesson. However I still wanna watch Pirates in the cinema!

Thanks Say Kai, Mong Seng and Jia Ling for the company on my final Saturday! Though the turnout wasn't that fantastic for a supposed 'class outing', still glad to stay in contact with my JC classmates. =) Hope to see more of my classmates next time!

I wonder if it's possible to have a mini sec sch class outing..., probably when most of them have ord-ed end of this year. =p

The Army drama has just ended its filming, looking forward to it in July. Wonder how the drama would portray Army like... Expect lots of uproar from the public, esp those who have served NS before haha. Just a little info: Felicia Chin and Tay Ping Hui are lover captains, while Huang Wenyong will be starring as an warrant officer. Heard they went to quite a few camps for filming.

Everyone's talking abt the HCI guy who punched a bus driver, that really brings the school to shame. Even an alumni myself feels shameful after reading this news, and hearing ppl ard me mentioning it. *shakes head*

Life is getting so mundane, can hardly think of any topics to chat with my friends haiz. I guess that's what online forums are for...

Hectic

Finally this hectic week draws to an end. Was hoping on Monday that this week could pass as fast as possible when I knew what was coming along. And with a blink of eye it's already Friday night! TGIF!

First up was my 1st NDP rehearsal at Marina on Tuesday. It was extremely hot sitting at the open and shelter-less spectator seats, and it got worse as noon approached. Luckily being a marshaller I could rest at anywhere I want when the rehearsal was going on, haha. Even went to Marina Square to da-bao Mac for my sergeants haha, but almost couldn't find my way in...>_<

The floating platform (or the pontoon) was not that big anyway, and it was still under construction at that time. The only 3 link bridges at the front makes the performance ground rather inaccessible, compared to the surround access at the stadium. Moreover the height of the pontoon can be affected by the tide level. The low tide on Tuesday morning resulted in a very steep link bridge, which made marching quite difficult. Fortunately it din rain otherwise the bridge would be very slippery, haha.

The view from the seats was pretty nice too. The almost completed ferris wheel and the Sheares bridge can be seen to the left, and the iconic Singapore's skyscraper view can be seen to the right. Let's not talk abt the middle haha, full of unsightly construction stuff at the opposite shore. And finally the vast blue sky at the background completes the scenic view, really have the urge to take a good photo. =)

Wednesday was my last minute IPPT, only being informed on Monday. Strangely I could break my 2.4km record! Ran abt 11.30, which is my fastest so far, but might be a bit slow for some of you haha. If nothing wrong with my calculation, I could probably get silver, yay! My first silver!

Thursday was NDP rehearsal once again, but this time I'm fully in charge as my IC wasn't around. Some screw ups here and there. Kena reprimanded by an encik, contingent dun want to listen to me, had difficulty satisfying a captain's demand. Haiz, I think I some sort of understand how a spec feels...

Due to some last minute thingy I came back with a chartered bus alone, and did my guard duty after that. Had lots of time to sleep but the bed wasn't comfortable at all. =(

Just as I thought the hectic week was over and could enjoy my last saturday with 04S34 classmates, I was informed of a very bad news... =(

My 2nd last Saturday

Realised I haven't been blogging for a long time. Will usually blog more when busy than when free. Anyway my Labour Day long weekend was entirely spent at home, I really need to get more life. >_<

Went to kbox with my mortal Huifang yesterday. Singing duets is fun. =) But I'm rather disappointed by myself, cos after so many kbox visits I still dun know how to sing with a microphone, haiz. Getting distracted by my mike voice might be the main cause why I could fumble with a song which I can sing properly at home. =(

Then went to watch Spider-man 3 with YF and JH. The movie was loooooooong...but very interesting! (and funny too =p) By far the best movie I've watched this year, followed by 300.

Had my second visit to Modestos for YF's birthday treat. Was very satiated by the tasty food, unlike my previous visit where I had to force down ultra-salty potatoes down my throat because of someone...haha.

Spent quite a lot at the arcade, on that touch screen terminal with the photo hunt game. What is that machine called anyway? The games are very fun, but it will be better with more ppl helping out haha. YF and I are quite poor in identifying picture differences lol.

Oh ya, Vivocity is really a nice place to settle and chit chat while overlooking the waters and Sentosa island. =)

Take a look at this video, it's amazing how Rynn is able to sing the lyrics of 精舞门 into a nice soothing tune:

I'm sure most of you know abt the singer 杨培安, who has super high and powerful vocals. It's scary to hear how high he could actually sing in this video:
