Romance of the Three Films
As for me, I shall be fair with my support: I want to watch all 3 movies! So help me accomplish this ok? By agreeing to watch the movies with me haha...
For those who dunno, the 3 movies are:
Kung Fu Dunk: IIRC the 4th movie starring Jay. And I happen to watch all 3 of his previous movies as well! Looking forward to the intensity of the basketball matches!
CJ7: After since the successful Shaolin Soccer and Kungfu Hustle which I enjoyed very much, I definitely will not give this movie a miss! But this reminds me too much of Chicken Little (both the alien plot and the alien head design).
Ah Long Pte Ltd: Fann acts rough again! As a crude Ah Long's daughter. The character development really resembles Just Follow Law.
Recently I saw a new name: 陈靓瑄
Guess who is she!

Geylang Adventure
It has been a hectic week, with COC (Change of Command) being held on Thurs. For those who dunno, COC is basically a ceremony to mark the change of Unit Commander. Though there were no parade (too few ppl in the unit to organise one), there were lots of preparation for the ceremony and 'Happy Hour' in the officer's mess. As expected, many ppl, including my platoon mates and other high ranking officers, drank like crazy. Vomit like crazy also after that lol. I was not spared too...
Next day, the platoon went for a dimsum lunch session at Geylang, as a farewell celebration for those posting out or ORDing on that day. In my impression, this shld be the first time I'm eating in the heart of Geylang.
Then I was pulled to play CS by the other CS fanatics, such as my Platoon Commander... >_> Honestly I have never ever played CS before since it started, dun really like FPS games. Probably beginner's luck or sth, my very first CS round ended with me killing someone! Haha looked so simple but after that I was killed countless times, many times more than my kills. Most of my kills were from direct close combat rather than sniping or camping.
Played for 3 hours straight (tiring!) with several classic and new interesting maps. Now I know why ppl used to be so addicted to CS. Killing someone really feels shiok lol.
On the way home, saw that Geylang was so active at night. So many neon lights ard, like some Hong Kong streets. Ppl anyhow crossing the busy road...indeed a red light district, cos every person crossing is like a red light to the cars haha.
And yesterday finally came the recall I was waiting for. After several false alarms almost every week since December, my Saturdays are free at last! Good riddance of those annoying fieldpack checks.
*Update* - Blog song changed! When I first heard this song din know it was Hebe who sang haha.

Hanabi
The menu is really extensive. More than 100 items to order from! Tasted those popular must-try Japanese food like salmon sashimi, tamago(egg) sushi, chawamushi, agedeshi tofu, yaki tori... Really ordered lots of stuff, and became very full lol. Must make my $32+ worth it mah.
After the long holiday season which ended with the cruise trip, life has become mundane again. Not very used to the 5-day work week. Several false alarms of a possible recall has deterred me from planning anything on Saturdays. Even my Japanese lessons have been put on the line. The only entertaining thing is my frequent dose of crunchyroll dramas haha, and the occasional Dynasty Warriors 6 on XBox360.
Just finished watching 爱杀17, a mystery thriller drama starring Angela Chang. (she again...) Very good plot with lots of twists and turns. Currently watching a Japanese hospital-themed drama. The way the film the surgery process is remarkable...ya, expect lots of blood too.
This Friday the 2006 Jan Pes C intake will be ORD-ing. Haiz, another batch of friends taking off again. 3 weeks after that, the April Pes A/B intake will ORD. Another 4 weeks later, March PTP intake will leave. And finally a whopping SIX weeks following that, April Pes C intake will then ORD. Wahhh, what a freaking huge gap!

Cruise!
Let the pictures do the narrating!
On the way to the cruise! Very excited =p. Started shooting pictures everywhere though there was nothing much of interest yet.
Cabin:
Woah, just like a maze. Can play hide and seek here with ease. Can attempt a 100m sprint here from end to end haha.
Rather small. Not for claustrophobic ppl. But quite cozy, good for playing cards and board games. It's a long time since I ever enjoyed such hotelroom-like facilities.
Buffet:
The outdoor buffet dining area. There are so many seats that one would never worry of not getting any seats. Same applies for the other restaurants in the cruise.
View from the window towards Sentosa Bridge. Cruise had not set off yet.
Open Deck:
View of Cruise Centre
The promenade to watch the sea and scenery.
Near the front of ship. Dun underestimate this place. This area will experience super strong winds while the ship is moving. Even I had difficulty walking through this area, children would probably just get blown away....
The most beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi area I've ever seen! Can't wait to use it lol.
Interior:
Can't believe this is the ship's shopping centre! Looks too beautiful and high class! Despite the new year, there is still some Christmas mood haha.
One more pic. Too nice not to take pictures =p.
Our first group photo!
The library. Looks very cozy! There are a few puzzles available to help us kill time haha.
The elevator looks pretty too! ZH went to take the stairs I think.
Puerto Rico:
Rated as the top board game in the world. It's my third time playing how could I not win? Haha. As you can see, setting up is a hassle so we only played once.
Midnight:
Other than the waves, it's pitch black outside the ship. Quite a scary sight IMO haha...
Went to visit the casino but did not play. Quite fun to see ppl lose and win money. The games looked complicated at first sight but were actually rather simple.
The Next Day:
Failed to see sunrise due to cloudiness. Waste our time haha. Anyway it was relaxing to watch the open seas and the blue skies, with strong winds blowing onto our faces.
Another group photo.
The children's pool! Comes with jacuzzi also. Seems like jacuzzis are everywhere in the ship. Some cabins have them too!
The relaxation bar - Galaxy of the Stars.
The Captain's bridge. Never expect we would get to meet him personally later...
Kuala Lumpur:
Finally arrived at KL! This cruise terminal is actually quite ulu. Had to take a 20 min cab ride to the nearest train station at Port Klang.
First time taking a train in another country. ZH was our tour guide for this KL trip as he seems to know this place pretty well haha.
It was an hour train ride to the city centre KLCC. Zzz.
Housing flats in KL. The train tracks are quite old and open. Old as in many weeds can be seen growing around the tracks. Open as in anyone can just bring their dogs to pee/shit on the tracks lol.
KL Sentral Train Interchange.
KLCC:
Finally reached our destination: the heart of KL. This is the KLCC shopping centre just underneath the twin towers. Veryyyy Biggggg! It will take a whole day to explore the shops.
The pond outside. Fountain not activated yet =(.
The outdoor playpool. Reminds me of Vivocity but the water looks much cleaner here.
The KL tower, which is located in the vicinity. Planned to visit there too but no time. Spent our time window shopping instead haha.
How can I forget this? Once the tallest building(s) in the world.
A group photo with the Petronas Twin Towers. Too bad we couldn't get up the building. Can you believe nobody took this photo for us? Still can look so perfect haha.
Despite leaving 2 hours before the stipulated return time, we were the last to return to the cruise. Even the Captain came out to welcome us back into the ship, haha. Dunno whether to call this an honour or an embarrassment...
After that we took a long nice sleep, until we missed breakfast. It was almost time to leave the cruise. Very 依依不舍. Then went jacuzzi for the first time =).
Group photo at the helipad.
The Lido Theatre. Din get to watch any performance here.
Front of ship taken from the 'Titanic' point.
Bye Star Virgo. Will I get to see you again?
Though it was a mere 30+ hours of cruise, I enjoyed myself fully. The first night of exploration was the most fun. No regrets in this trip =).

许哲佩 – Finding Neverland
Shocking? Lol. A bit atypical right? This song has never appeared in 883, 1003 and 933 charts at all. And I doubt it will ever appear in any of my friends' charts as well. As to why I chose this as the top song... hmm I'm rather bad at describing musicality in words (that's why I never give reviews of albums/songs haha). If you really want to know that bad, can ask me personally lol.
Chose this as one of my Kbox Competition songs haha. It was my most-liked song among the rest, as well as the song which I put in most effort in singing, and also the song which obtained the highest score!
That's abt it for my music 'awards'! Gonna pack my stuff alr. For those who still dunno what I'm counting down to, you'll know on Friday haha. 8 hours more!
Oh yeah. Wish everyone Happy New Year and Happy Schooling (for students)!

2007 Review (Movies)
Let's start the movie countdown!
15) 881
Artistic movies aren’t really my kind. Moreover I hardly have any memories of Seventh month Getais, except for the loud blasting sound which interrupted my TV programmes haha. Besides, there isn’t any Getai setup in my new estate. Honestly I wasn’t really touched by the movie in the end, but the costumes and dancing were rather interesting to watch.
Rating: 5.5/10
14) Shrek 3
Not as funny as the 2nd instalment. This sequel seemed to be a bit forceful. The funniest moment would probably be the other princesses trying to infiltrate the castle to save Princess Fiona.
Rating: 5.5/10
13) Fantastic Four 2
Did not watch the first movie. Did not really enjoy this one either. The plot’s a bit too cheesy for me. Everything seemed too typical and simple. Duration too short, looked very budget. The bad guy died too easily then THE END…
Rating: 6/10
12) Protégé (门徒)
An educational movie abt drugs haha. Tells you abt the drug manufacturing process and explains why ppl resort to taking drugs. Daniel Wu’s acting is good in this show. The movie ended in a rather saddening manner. Oh yeah there is one scene which still haunts me: the woman’s body being eaten by rats…
Rating: 6.5/10
11) The Golden Compass
The show doesn’t really seem to match up with its publicity. It’s a bit complex as there are too many characters in the story. Quite obvious there would be a sequel coming up, but I dun seem to have the urge to follow haha. The story about the bear was quite interesting though, esp the duel. Basically all the animal interactions in the movie were rather cute to watch hehe.
Rating: 6.5/10
10) Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Out of the 3 parts, I still prefer the first one haha. Got lost in the story for the second and third parts. Dun really understand their pirate slangs and accents. Had to even look up Wikipedia to catch up on the story. Other than the pirates setting, ship battles, certain hilarious moments and Johnny Depp’s superb acting, I dun really fancy the confusing story. GV Yishun’s small leg space did not help me in enjoying this lengthy movie. Ended up having cramps. Welcome to Singapore…yeah thanks for the publicity.
Rating: 6.5/10
9) Mr Bean’s Holiday
Still prefer watching Mr Bean’s past TV series but nevertheless it’s still funny. Liked the idea of how all his videos combined to fit the narration of the Carson’s Clay’s ‘movie’ in the last part. Rowan Atkinson never seems to grow old, does he? It’s said that this will be the last Mr Bean story he will be starring in. Good bye Mr Bean!
Rating: 7/10
8) Babel
As mentioned earlier, I'm not really fond of artistic movies. This one is special in such a way that 4 different stories were told at the same time. These 4 stories were interlinked in one way or other, but they did not occur simultaneously. It may seem confusing but each story was simple to understand. Was touched by one particular story, and the movie left me filled with thoughts even after leaving the theatre. Did I mention the theatre only had 3 ppl? Lol.
Rating: 7/10
7) Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
5th Instalment le. This series have been accompanying me since my secondary school days. And its books are the only fiction books I have read since I broke free from Bookworm Stories many years ago haha. (As some of you know I dun have the habit of reading) Not much action in the beginning, which made me a bit sleepy esp after a long day of NDP rehearsal. It did pick up at the last part but ended pretty quickly too. Watching Dolores Umbridge in the show was quite enjoyable too haha.
Rating: 7.5/10
6) Just Follow Law
Have always enjoyed watching Jack Neo movies becos they never fail to make me laugh a lot and reflect back on the story even after leaving the theatre. The plot of switching bodies was a unique one, complemented by Gurmit’s and Fann’s superb acting. Shall look forward to next year’s CNY movie starring Fann and Mark Lee haha.
Rating: 8/10
Down to Top 5!

5) Spiderman 3
Did not read the comics or anything, but was merely fascinated by the action since I watched Spiderman 2 in 2004. Liked how Peter Parker appears to be so goody-two-shoes in his normal life, yet so brave and heroic under the Spiderman suit. Though the movie was a bit lengthy, I enjoyed every part of it =).
Rating: 8/10
4) Secret
First movie directed by Jay Chou. The title itself made the movie tempting to watch as everyone wanted to know what the ‘secret’ is. Initially thought it was just a typical love story, with the ‘secret’ probably being the girl contacting a terminal disease or sth haha. Did not expect the idea of time travel to be used in this movie. There were several discussions regarding this movie, explaining and speculating events. Not surprised if anyone went to watch the second time. Missed the first 10 min of the show haha, but it wasn’t really important.
Rating: 8.5/10
3) National Treasure 2
Much better than the first instalment! Though I dun have much impression of the first since it was so long ago. Really like how the puzzles and clues were solved (esp the resolute desk), but Nicholas Cage tends to be too much a genius. The action scenes were fantastic too, such as the car chase and the balancing platform. Looks very much like a RPG action/mystery game haha.
Rating: 8.5/10
2) Transformers
The most hyped movie of the year. Truly enough, the plot and cinematics did live up to its hype. The robots were well designed and I like to see them transforming haha. Lots of action, sufficient humour, some touching scenes, great introduction and ending. The only thing that annoyed me was the camera moving too fast during some action scenes which made me dizzy and could not see what exactly was happening.
Rating: 9/10
And the top movie goes to...

1) 300
A blockbuster movie despite its simple name. Basically the story is abt 300 Spartan warriors who fought through enemies many times larger than them, and eventually met their doom. I enjoyed the war scenes and the ending was quite touching too. This movie also produced famous quotes like ‘Tonight we will dine in hell!’ as well as the interesting fact that the actors went through tough intensive training in order to achieve 8 packs as shown. The colour scheme employed in the movie gave viewers the feeling of being in that time period and thus made the movie more realistic.
Rating: 9/10
Will I watch more movies this year? Will there be more movies with higher ratings? Shall see in a year's time =).
